I was just wondering, if anyone could explain why my thread on Steve Fossett was deleted?

I wouldn't know. Was there any unecessary information in the thread? Only trying to be helpful :) Boeingboynat

No my post was to the point and factual, perhaps any of the moderators might want to comment?

I have also had this a few times EI-DUB and I think that in your case it was because it was not purely civil aviation as in airlines and big aeroplanes. I had a good rant about my friend Mr. O'Leary scrubbed one time.

we should be able to speak feeely. After all were told its a free world. If the powers that be read this they might actually learn something from us. And, if the powers that be participate to we might learn something

I have also been scrubbed and given a ticking off on planespotters.net for some of my true and honest remarks which did not suit the editor as he likes a certain airline that I don't so if it is not whay the editors want to hear it will be dropped.

I am I must admit, slightly annoyed it would get deleted, it was intended as a small tribute to one of the most remarkable men in recent aviation history.

Secondly, this site lost a lot of regulars after the photos went, but speaking for myself, I wanted to keep being a regular here, because I love the debates and chat I have with a good few of you. I check this site several times a day, and I must admit there seems to be less and less reason to do so.

And as you said captainbill, you were silenced once or twice, and I think the moderators have to learn the difference between a) defamatory statements that can get the site sued, which should indeed be deleted ( and by the way I have never seen one single one on this site re: that airline) and b) The truth about a very poor, low standard irish airline.

Yours,

EI-DUB.

I think we should have the right to give an airline a bashing if we recieve a bad service or something that they have done which is bad. After all anohter site of which I read the forum regularly but not a member (can't affrod it) bashes the industry all the time. Weather its an Airbus v Boeing or an experiance on a certain airline. After all maybe if the airliners read this they might get some ideas from us the clients. Because at the end of the day we pay our way and have that right to complain if we don't get the service we paid for

I find the comments, even the controversial ones, published on this forum much much milder than what I hv experienced on airliner.net. Many discussions are like war zones over there.....

That is true FLX and maybe it should be adopted here to. To erase a forum dedicated to the late Steve Fosset was just silly

especially silly, as given the level of activity on these pages of the forum recently, I thought the moderators would have been glad of any topic remotely related to aviation being discussed. there have been many timed recently where there have been no posts for days!

I think it was ridiculous that it was deleted, as he was an absolute pioneer in so many fields of aviation.
