Strange flight routing???

In AVIATION LETTER 502/14 it has this information CN 950 A330-202 EC-KTG delivered to lessor and lt AEA. ferried TLS-MAD 04/09/08 as AEA001. Nothing strange with that, but when it goes VIA UK AIRSPACE for legal purposes that's when it becomes strange. Has there been some sort of law passed which i dont know about where you can not fly between FRANCE and SPAIN

You would be surprised sometimes about little stipulations and requirements in contracts. Especially in the good old days ( well for me, so the late 80's), certain Irish airlines that are not Aer Lingus or Aer Arann had to operate their flight i think from cork to london, via dublin for a year. They would land, taxi back to the start of the runway and take off again, because of the EU rules at the time. So perhaps in this case it could have been something similar.

YOU have to fly the aircraft in UK aerospace for financial reason! It has to reach UK for the deal to be finished and last payment to Airbus completed! The money is payed, the insurance is taking over the Airbus insurance and the leasing agreement with the airlines is completed at the moment the aircraft fly in to UK! ILFC and Gecas does not do that since US Banks and insurances does not demand ti! In some strange cases Airbus might have to land in UK as well! But I dont know about that!
